• Plan 1.5-2 hours for this appointment. This is my opportunity to get to know you as the unique individual that you are! We will begin with an in-depth conversation about your reasons for seeking treatment, your medical history, and a bit about your personal history. The more complete picture I have, the more I can support you. Also included will be a physical assessment, an energy (Qi) pulse assessment, and the initial acupuncture treatment. Please do not wear make-up or any scented products to this appointment.

  • Plan 60 minutes for this appointment. We will begin with time for you to communicate your current state, your progress from treatment, and where you need more support. Then I will check to see how your energy (Qi) pulses are presenting. This information will guide my customized treatment plan for you that day. Each treatment builds on the previous one and will progressively take us towards our goal. The changes you feel during a treatment can be subtle or profound, every individual is different.

  • This style of acupuncture is preventative, cumulative, and takes commitment. The general goal is to build up your core energy and ensure that all the energy channels are vibrant and flowing evenly. Once your energy (Qi) is built up and holding, your body, mind, and emotions will begin to stabilize. In this state, your body has the energy (Qi) that it needs to heal the deeper, more long-standing issues.

To get the most out of your commitment, I recommend getting weekly treatment for 4-6 weeks; or until your body tells us it is time to start spacing them out. Eventually, treatments can be spaced out to biweekly, monthly, or even seasonally.

That said, I don’t want the fear of commitment to be the reason you don’t give this try. Together we can create a plan that works for your schedule, your budget, and our treatment goals. 🤍

  • Acupuncture involves the insertion of sterile, surgical-grade stainless steel, single-use disposable needles, just below the surface of the skin. Before needling the points, I will often place a small lit cone of Moxa (the herb Artemisia Vulgaris) to warm and prepare the points; the cone will be removed when you feel warmth.

For most treatments, the needles do not stay in for an extended time; I will make a connection with the energy (Qi) and then immediately take the needle out. When the needle is inserted a very slight prick may be felt. When the needle connects with the energy (Qi), the sensation may vary from a minimal sensation to a brief discomfort, or “zap-like” ache. I will be with you at all times, so you will never be left in discomfort.

Strict safety protocols are required within the practice of acupuncture, including regular disinfecting of all office surfaces, tables, and supplies, hand sanitization, legal disposal of sharps, and cleaning needle insertion sites.

  • Often the first improvements noticed are in your general state of health, energy, mood, sleep, and state of mind.
